Susan Nicholas Gephart and father, Tom Nicholas, annouce the opening of “Nicholas Studios”, located at their Bellefonte homes.

Susan and Tom welcome visitors by appointment to their two studios, where over 200 pastels and oils are displayed throughout.  They offer a range of sizes and prices, framed and unframed paintings.  Both artists have released a new line of stationary available for this holiday season. They welcome time payments and layaways for gift giving all year round. As a 1979 BFA graduate of PSU, Susan Nicholas Gephart’s landscapes were featured in 1987 at The HUB Gallery of The Penn State University in a show entitiled, “Focus on the Landscape”.  Now in 2009 Susan has returned with an exhibit entitled the same.  With more than 30 years of ”Plein Air” painting and exploration of color and atmosphere, Susan’s artistic creativity has captured her love, joy and the beauty of the Earth’s ever changing sky, water and land.

All are welcome to attend this event with light refreshments being served.

May 11-17 Hameau Farm Studio Artist Retreat

Hameau Farm is a gathering place for artists to share, create, learn, and have fun in a creative, positive, and supportive atmosphere. The unique studio, a variety of landscape views, gourmet foods, and camaraderie compel artists to return.

• We welcome artists of all media and levels.
• We serve beautiful meals catered to individual needs.
• We will work to fit your schedule, interests, and budget.

The panoramic views and comforts of the Hameau Farm Studio along with its well-lit space for demos, critiques, and painting make it an ideal getaway for artists. The beautiful fields, valleys, Amish farms, and lush Kish Creek await the colors of your palatte. Beyond Hameau lie Brookmere Vineyards, Plum Bottom Farm lane, and the view of Juniata Valley at Jack’s Mountain.

There will be plenty of free time for painting in the fields, or from the panoramic Hameau Studio Deck, in the shade by Kish Creek, or on excursions to other locations in The Big Valley, such as Brookmere Vineyards, Jacks Mountain, or The Belleville Amish Market. Susan Nicholas Gephart and James Farrah will assist and demonstrate “Plein Air” painting. Many visiting rtists will also be painting and drawing, and welcome questions, observing their techniques, or working along side of them.

Life doesn’t get much better for artists, when all they have to think about is “Which beautiful scene should I paint next?
